Getting out of Havana isn’t as easy as just hopping straight on a bus. First you have to find a taxi to take you out to the bus station to book a bus ticket for the following day. Or the day after if things are a bit busy… Looks like we’re spending another day in Havana.

The following are accepted facts when booking transport in Cambodia: Two hours will mean four… or more. Descriptions like ‘VIP’ and ‘Air-con’ are unrelated to the actual trip you are booking (they are simply added to make the sign eye-catching) Booking a ‘seat’ does not guarantee and actual seat, contortionist manoeuvres may be required We were told the journey from Kampot to Saigon would be about 8 hours, we thought 12 was probably a more reasonable estimate. Not on the same plate, but in the same day. That’s what Bangkok is all about. A city of contrasts and chaos. [This is the first in the series of posts sharing some of the photos from our last trip in 2012, while we try to be at least a little bit frugal and save for the next one in 2014.] Last year we started our jaunt around Southeast Asia in the bustling city of Bangkok.
